At Conscious Poker we know that while poker is a zero sum game, life is not. That’s why first and foremost we have a conscious mission: to create massive value for the poker community while simultaneously giving back to those who weren’t dealt as good of a hand.
We believe that these two core values work in synergy: we can help the poker community play their hands better, while acknowledging that there are many others who weren’t dealt a playable hand to begin with.
We believe that there is more than your mere poker talent that will determine how successful of a player you become. That’s why we focus our energy on helping you tackle the two foundational elements of improving at poker: becoming a better poker player (bankroll management, mindset, focus, performance) and becoming better at playing poker (strategy, tactics, game theory).
We believe that one needs both of these core elements to reach their poker potential. And with a conscious mission, we’re changing the way things are done within the poker community.
1. We Don’t Care About Your Poker Talent
You heard us correct. And we say that as a company who makes 100% of its profit by selling poker courses. We say this because we understand that everyone plays poker for different reasons.
If your goal is to be the best player in the world and reach the top, great, our courses help make you a crusher. But we also realize the truth that many of our customers don’t actually want to become professionals.
Perhaps you run your own business and play poker a few times a week, either at your local casino or at a home game with friends. Maybe you travel to an event or two or Vegas for the summer. We know you’re not leaving your full time gig for poker, why would you?
What you really want is to run your business (and potentially free up more of your time) so you can allocate it toward poker. We get it.
That’s why we built Four Step Mastery.
Maybe you see poker as a stepping-stone to something bigger, a side hustle that can earn a few grand to invest elsewhere. That’s awesome, our poker business course Four Step Mastery is perfect for you because in addition to helping you become better at playing the game of poker it will help you become a better poker player.
2. Your Poker Journey is Unique
At Conscious Poker we believe that each person plays poker for a different reason, and that reason may be changing or evolving. Our goal is to ensure that your goals are being met, and that’s why we ensure that all our courses have ways to facilitate this truth. Whether it’s through group training, webinars, forums or actionable, customizable exercises, there are numerous ways in which you can cater the content to your individual needs.
3. Absolute Crushing Content.
We know that you have choice when it comes to poker training, that’s why we never compromise on the quality of our content and always strive to make it the best on the market.
We’re so confident in fact that we give away most of our material for free and aim to make that free content better than everyone else’s paid stuff. We do this because we know if you sample our free stuff, we’re going to establish trust and build a long term relationship, and, when you’re ready, you’ll come back to try our paid content.
4. Conceptual Based Learning.
At Conscious Poker we're aware that everyone's learning style is unique. That's why we approach our training in a unique way: instead of focusing our time on giving you the answers, we focus almost exclusively on the process.
In this way you'll come to have a deeper understanding of how to think about the game of poker as a whole. We call this approach conceptual based learning. A real example of this in play would be while reviewing a hand of poker.
In each hand we analyze, we'll give you not just the 'answer'
for how to play the hand, but walk you through the underlying principles of why that decisions was significant. You can then go directly to your specific game and apply these tactics to any situation, in any game, vs. any opponent.
Our goal is to leave you with an improved foundation and understanding about the game of poker, a skillset which is versatile, practical and evergreen.
There’s a really good chance (like 99.97%) that if you’re reading this message, you were dealt a good hand in life. Just think about the cliché question, ‘how much does that smartphone cost that you’re holding?’
As cliché as it sounds, it really does cost more than some people make in a year. We’re not here to judge or make you feel guilty, but grateful (we love our iPhones too).
Frankly, we’re happy you’re crushing!
And as a Conscious Company we take great pride in giving back to those who weren’t dealt a premium starting hand in life, or even a playable one.
We partner with REG, founded by poker players, whose mission is to optimize how each dollar is distributed to those in need in order to maximize impact.
Poker is a zero sum game, but life is not. We give back by partnering with the most effective charitable organizations like REG. For example, 100% of your first month’s subscription for example goes directly to charity.
We turn good players into great ones by creating the best poker training products on the market.
We believe that many of life’s greatest teachings come from the poker table. We at Conscious Poker aim to raise the awareness about the benefits of responsibly playing poker by extrapolating lessons from the felt on subjects like risk, money management, variance, luck and applying them to life and business.
We don’t strive to be the biggest company, nor the richest, but we do want to be the coolest. We take great pride in helping to create a badass life for our employees. At Conscious Poker we understand that there's more to life than money and what people ultimately want is a fulfilling job where their work is appreciated, that offers them freedom, excitement and choices.

We’re not apologizing for the fact that we are a business, and that means we need to make money. Profit is kind of like our fuel; we can’t run too long without it.
We also understand that the growth of our mission as a company is limited to our ability to profit. We see this as an asset, not something to be ashamed of. We believe that through profits we can grow an incredible company while simultaneously having a net positive impact on society.
We make decisions based on relative value, not absolute value. We apply this to the micro and the macro. If a pencil costs $0.50, we don’t spend $2.00, not because we can’t afford it, but because it’s fiscally irresponsible and shows a lack of respect for the use of money.
We also believe in providing immense value to our customers. We strive to make each purchase they make worth twice what they pay for it.
We started this business because we wanted to, not because we had to, We try to take that awareness with us every day, and apply it to each project we take on. While we do grind hard to create, if we’re not having fun, what’s the point?
We believe that growth doesn’t mean becoming a bigger company, but better people. At Conscious Poker we aim to raise the level of self-awareness among our employees, customers, and the world.
1. We Can Not Help You Get Rich Quick.
Alec often recites the advice that the legendary poker professional Phil Laak told him during a high stakes cash game at the Bellagio Casino.
“You get rich slowly.”
The reason his advise stuck with him is not only because it’s true but also because it’s the opposite of what most people try to sell you with their products and services.
At Conscious Poker we believe in full transparency and we’re upfront about the commitment it takes to improve.
To really crush it we know from past experience that one has to hone their skills to move up through the ranks, and that these things don’t happen overnight.
In short, it’s a grind. Even at the top you still have to put in the time to stay ahead of the curve. So if you’re not prepared to commit more effort than you’re expecting, we’re sorry, but we cannot help you.
2. There Are No Shortcuts
We receive many comments, emails and DM’s (we read all of them), and can’t tell you how many people ask something like, ‘teach me your magic secret to poker success.’
We’ll tell you. There is none. If you’re looking to buy a product or watch a video and uncover the magic bullet or download the best strategy in your head (like Neo in the Matrix), we still can’t help you.
We’re confident that our content and products are the best on the market, and they will save you hours of wasted time and money, and while you can hack your success to some extent, the reality is that upping your game takes time, hard work and discipline.
3. This Is A Team Effort
You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.
Our job is to show you the way, motivate you and give you all the resources you need to crush. We will give you the tools to move up in stakes, grow your bankroll and crush your competition, but ultimately it’s up to you to take that to the felt and implement it.
It will take time and effort on your end. Enjoy the journey (and don’t forget to breathe).
4. We Can’t Prevent Downswings.
Wouldn’t that be epic?
Sorry to disappoint.
Here’s the truth. Even the best professionals in the world lose ~30% of their cash game sessions.
Even more if they play tournaments.
If you’re not ready for that, you’re playing the wrong game.
And while we do love chip porn and stacks of high society, that’s not a fair representation of what it’s like to be a poker professional.
It’s true that we can’t stop you from having losing sessions; we can help you recover faster. By mastering your inner psychology, being more fiscally responsible, playing your A-Game more often, and taking full control of your poker playing we can help you reduce the frequency and impact of your losing sessions, while maximize your wins.
Conscious Poker was founded by Alec Torelli, who has been a world renown high stakes poker professional for over a decade.
Alec has helped thousands of people take their poker game to the next level through his private coaching, seminars, training videos and blogs. That could mean growing your bankroll, improving your technical skills, being the best player in your local casino, or using poker as a side hustle to help them achieve their personal goals.
Alec started playing poker back in 2003 when he was 16 years old after getting invited to his friend Blaine’s house. Chris Moneymaker had just won the World Series of Poker Main Event and poker was exploding.
He remembers winning $12 his first time playing and thinking how cool it would be if he could just keep beating my friends out of money so he wouldn’t have to get a summer job.
He never imagined that he would go on to travel to 40+ countries, compete in the biggest cash games in the world, play on internationally televised events, have over $1,500,000 in tournament earnings and get to meet, talk strategy and become friends with the best players in the world.
Today Alec still travels the world with his wife Ambra while playing poker running an online business and enjoying a cup of coffee with his fans along the way.
